13. Legal & Compliance

WalletTag is designed to be privacy-respecting, regulation-aware, and globally usable — with a clear separation between reputation tagging, risk scoring, and identity verification.

The system prioritises data minimisation, transparency, and modular compliance, ensuring that users and platforms can adopt WalletTag without sacrificing security or regulatory integrity.

Privacy & Data Handling

  • WalletTag does not collect personal data by default

  • All risk scores and tags are derived from public, on-chain behaviour analysed via machine learning

  • Identity verification (e.g. for Verified tags) is handled off-chain by third-party KYC providers

  • KYC data is only accessible upon legal request (e.g. law enforcement) and never shared publicly

Trademark Verification & Domain Tagging

  • Requires submission of official IP documentation (e.g. WIPO, USPTO, EUIPO)

  • Evidence is manually reviewed or verified by an approved partner

  • WalletTag does not act as arbiter — it reflects verified ownership status and dispute outcomes without bias

Dispute Resolution

  • Neutral, structured process with logged evidence and tag changes

  • Optional escalation path via third-party arbitration or DAO-based governance

  • All tag assignments and changes are fully transparent and auditable

  • Designed to support fair handling of brand conflicts, impersonation, or fraud

Global Compliance & KYC Flexibility

  • Modular KYC integration allows platforms to enable verification where required

  • Platforms can enforce their own rules based on WalletTag signals and user status

  • Aligned with privacy-first principles, GDPR, and Web3 identity standards

  • The $TAG token (future phase) is intended for utility purposes only, not for speculative or security-based use

WalletTag is not a judge, regulator, or enforcement body — it provides risk intelligence, tagging infrastructure, and optional verification tooling to help Web3 participants build safer ecosystems.
