7. IP Verification & Domain Disputes
In addition to wallet-based reputation, WalletTag supports an optional module focused on Web3 domain integrity and trademark protection.
Key Features:
Trademark Verification Flow:
Wallet owners can upload official proof of IP ownership (e.g., USPTO, EUIPO, WIPO documentation)
Once verified, the domain is tagged as “IP Verified” and locked to the wallet
Dispute Filing Mechanism:
Verified trademark owners can file a claim if a domain is registered by another party
If upheld, the system can automatically transfer the domain to the rightful owner or lock it pending resolution
Unlocked vs. Locked Domains:
If a user registers a domain without trademark verification, it is marked as IP/Trademark Unverified
This keeps the domain “unlocked” and eligible for future claims
If a verified trademark owner submits a dispute and it is upheld, the domain can be automatically transferred or blocked
Neutral Arbitration Layer:
WalletTag does not act as judge, but facilitates tag issuance based on verified documentation
Optional escalation to DAO or third-party panels (e.g., WIPO-based Web3 partners)
This system brings clarity to ownership disputes in Web3 and helps prevent impersonation, squatting, and malicious brand abuse.
